Emotive Shapes Study

Goal: Create a series of spaces that use composition, shapes, and pacing to tell an emotional story.

What I Learned:

  • Practice using weight, balance, and framing in compositions
  • Practice the concept of focal points
  • Concept of using shapes to make the player feel safe or in danger
  • Concept of the contrast between different spaces to invoke emotions
  • Concept of wide-open/prospect and narrow/cramped spaces makes the player feel vulnerable and uncomfortable
  • Concept of the player having more information, like enemy locations and having places to hide/cover in, will allow them to feel more comfortable and safer
